The purpose of organizing this festival on an annual basis is to draw the attention of all nature enthusiasts towards the rich fauna of the state. However, there is much more than bird watching that people can enjoy at the festival. One can spot other animal species like elephant, sloth bear, rhinoceros, leopard, jackal, crocodiles, tiger, and various other amphibians and reptiles. The Bird and Nature Festival of Uttar Pradesh is organized by the Forest and Eco Tourism Department.

The festival will take place at the Vijay Sagar Bird Sanctuary that is known to house several residential and migratory bird species.
