With Delhi To Dehradun Just 2 Hours Apart, Plan Your Next Expressway Escape!

If you’re a Delhiite you likely would’ve planned a trip to the evergreen Nainital for the summer, but why waste your time traveling so far when Dehradun will be 160 minutes away? No this isn’t a scam, for real you can now reach Dehradun in just 2 hours via the new Delhi-Dehradun expressway! The construction of the fourth phase of the Delhi-Dehradun expressway has begun and will be over by the end of June. This 6-lane expressway will connect Dehradun to Delhi via Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli, and Saharanpur.  While the entire expressway will be operational in May 2025, one part of it will become functional in July this year.

Ministries of Environment and Wildlife have ordered the National Highways Authorities of India (NHAI) to maintain the current route as it is. This decision has come in the wake of allowing free movement of wildlife in the area. As a result, a 12-km long elevated road has been constructed over the Rajaji National Park which is also the longest wildlife corridor in Asia! Not only are tourists thrilled with this new expressway, the wildlife enthusiasts too are enticed by the concern.
