Kashmir is one of the most sought after destinations in our country. After a winter full of events, it’s time for people to plan their spring/summer vacations to this beautiful place. From March 24, 2023 onwards, tourists will get to witness the beautiful tulips as the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden will be open to the public. Kashmir will also host the annual Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden Festival from April 3 to 20 onwards.
The Tulip Festival is said to be held in the Indira Memorial Tulip Garden. This garden overlooks the beautiful Dal Lake. So, it shouldn’t come to you as a surprise that it’s one of the most famous tourist attractions in Srinagar. It’s spread across an area of almost 30 hectares and is said to be the largest tulip garden in Asia. One can find over 1.5 million different colored tulips in this garden.
Tourists not just from India but all over the world come to see the tulips bloom during this festival. Apart from that, the festival also features many different cultural programs that people can enjoy. There are other things like food stalls and many activities that showcase the rich culture and heritage of Kashmiri people.
One thing to keep in mind is that the tulip blooms are not known to last for very long. They may bloom till April end. The garden welcomes tourists only during this blooming season. The timings for visitors at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Garden are from 8 am to 7 pm. The entry fee for adults is INR 60 per person while the fees for children are INR 25 per child.
