The inaugural flight, MH0116, was welcomed warmly at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (TRV) at 11 am IST. Subsequently the flight departed from the airport on November 10 to Kuala Lumpur. With this development, the airline became the first full-service premium carrier to offer flights to South Asia and the Pacific from Trivandrum and Amritsar.

This expansion has improved the airline’s network in India to 8 major locations including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Amritsar. Malaysia Airlines is all set to begin flying to the third Indian route, Ahmedabad, from December 1, 2023, marking it as the 9th major hub. Overall, the airline will be operating 65 flights weekly in India.

With 3 direct flights to and from Kuala Lumpur in such a short span, Malaysia Airlines definitely has made travel a lot faster and hassle-free for a large number of flyers.
