Karnataka To Get The Largest Railway Platform In The World

The world’s longest railway station is now in Karnataka. According to recent reports, Indian Railways’ South Western Railway (SWR) zone’s Hubballi has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. Shri Siddharoodha Swami station now has the world’s longest railway platform.

If reports are to go by, a total amount of INR 20 crore has been to build this 1,507 m long platform. It’s a part of the remodeling project of the Hubballi yard and also to pave the way for the running of additional trains in the future.

The Ministry of Railway has revealed this information quite recently. Our current Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed his appreciation regarding this development. He said that this initiative will also pave the way for infrastructure development. The PM also added that our country is moving ahead by modernizing its cities. He also said that Hubballi-Dharwad is a part of the smart city project.

According to recent reports, the total cost for these projects will be INR 520 crore. These development projects are expected to create hygienic, functional, and safe public places to enhance the quality of life. These projects are also said to boost economic development of that particular region and also promote tourism.
