Amidst the pandemic, however, travelling anywhere now comes with various sets of regulations and guidelines. All of these are meant to comply with the hygienic and safety factors of every individual. While we advise you to stay indoors as much as possible, if for any reason you have to travel, here’s what you should be packing during covid if you have plans to travel.

One important thing to keep in mind is that you should pack as light as possible. Moreover, you shouldn’t forget that we’re still in the midst of a global pandemic. So there’s every reason for you to be a responsible and safe traveler. You should certainly focus on packing these things when traveling during the pandemic.

  1. Hand sanitizers that have at least 60% alcohol. Face coverings like masks and face shields. The latter being necessary during flight journeys.
  2. Disinfectant products like wipes and sprays. Additionally, bring gloves to minimize physical contact with public places like door knobs, washrooms, handrests etc.
  3. Carry your own food and water to minimize physical contact. More importantly, many places are yet to resume their meal services.
  4. Remember to carry your own beddings like pillow, blanket and eye mask for long journeys. None of these are being provided as of now by the travel industry, but in case you are offered, you can kindly decline them and use yours. This way, it is safer and more hygienic.
  5. Do not forget about carrying your own toiletries. At a time when your hygiene strictly needs to be maintained, include and use your own toiletries like soaps, towels, face washes, wet wipes, shampoos etc.
  6. Although at places like airports, passengers are slotted yellow bins where bio hazardous materials like gloves or masks should be disposed of. In case you do not find any nearby, it is best to carry a zipper bag where you can dispose of them. This is to ensure everyone’s safety and control the outbreak.
  7. You can always carry your own small safety kit that could include your prescribed medications, band-aids, allergy medicines, analgesic medicine, antihistamine tablets, diarrhoea medicines, antacid, antifungal or antibacterial cream.
  8. Finally, do not forget to carry your travel documents, along with the required e-tickets and e-permits. Guidelines of many regions require travellers to carry their Covid-19 negative test results. Check the guidelines of the place you are visiting and pack the documents accordingly.
  9. While you’re at it, don’t forget your basic essential electronic devices like cell phone chargers, earphones/headphones and power banks. These will be all the more necessary to stay up-to-date with what’s happening around you. It goes without saying, don’t forget your laptop and charger if you’re going for a workation.
