Paasha - JW Marriott

This fine-dining rooftop restaurant is the crown jewel of JW Marriott on SB Road. Of course, the food here is known to be lip-smacking. However, the ambiance they have managed to create adds to the experience a lot.

Once you get to the 24th floor, you’re greeted by an open-air restaurant with warm lighting reflecting off of different shades of wood that cover the bar and the floor. The seating and a majority of the furniture are white, making the space feel bigger and luxurious. Speaking of big spaces, add the beautiful night skies of Pune and bustling city lights down on the ground and you’re in for a visual and a literal treat!

The menu in Paasha mostly consists of Mughlai and North Indian food, with great options in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. However, Pune is known to have some affinity towards biryanis and kebabs, and the chefs at Pasha do much more than justice to that affinity.

Biryani

Address: JW Marriott, Senapati Bapat Road.

Price Approximation: INR 2,500 for two.

Ideal For: Families, couples.

Must-Try: Phirni, Murgh Peshawar, Paneer Lababdar.

Timings: 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

Cuba Libre

Doing justice to its name, Cuba Libre puts you in a rustic yet comfortable restaurant and pub. Even though it is only on the third floor, the vibe that this place offers takes it to new heights altogether.

If you choose the outdoor seating, you’re welcomed by an open-air lounge that is the perfect combination of woods and whites. You’ve got a pencil bar with heightened seating and a Che Guevara-inspired mural on the back.

If you choose to sit inside, the space has very well-balanced lighting, with bright neons marking the dance floor and dim, yellow lights giving the seating area its own aura. There are bench-seats that line the walls and let you have a bigger party without hassle.

The best part is, if you want to stay away from the discotheque but close to the drinks, you’ve got a U-shaped bar that covers the dancefloor. It is brightly lit and lets you be an audience to the disco, while not necessarily being in that space.

Now that you’ve picked a spot and settled down, it’s time to order. The menu has Italian, North Indian, Continental, and fast food options. However, the court of public opinion states that the chicken wings, finger chips, nachos, and stuffed chicken are the best dishes in this restaurant. Well, we definitely think you should try those!

Finger Chips

Address: 3rd floor, Phoenix Market City, Viman Nagar.

Price Approximation: INR 2,200 for two.

Ideal For: Friend groups, couples.

Must-Try: Stuffed chicken, cocktails.

Timings: 12 pm - 11:59 pm.

Addah - The O Hotel

Placed on top of the O Hotel, which itself is one of the poshest places in Pune, Addah is definitely a treat for your belly and your eyes. The decor in this restaurant is just as fine as the food. You’ll see an amazing marriage of elements like water, fire, and earth (stone). However, all elements are very well balanced and provide the guests with a relaxed and luxurious experience.

This open-air restaurant is made up of stone and wood flooring with an infinity pool at the very end. You can choose to sit at one of the tall chairs at the bar, or kick back on the sofas and enjoy your food. Indoor seating is also available. While it provides an intimate vibe with low lighting and blue accents, we do think watching the Pune horizon is a little more exciting.

That being said, the food is just as great regardless of where you sit. The menu has impeccable selections of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Some of the best ones include dal makhani, Kheema Taka Tak, and Malabari prawns curry. Moreover, they have amazing cocktails to go along with your food, too.

Dal Makhani

Address: The O Hotel, North Main Road, Koregaon Park.

Price Approximation: INR 2,500 for two.

Ideal For: Families, couples.

Must-Try: Sholay murgh tikka, paneer tikka, gosht seekh kebab.

Timings: 7:00 pm - 11:59 pm.

Atmosphere 6

If you’re looking for a relaxed evening full of great conversations and Pune’s skyline keeping you company, Atmosphere 6 is the spot you want to check out. This place is set up on the terrace of the Sky Max Mall. This provides the patrons of this restaurant with the twinkling lights of the many buildings in Viman Nagar as the backdrop.

As you step in, you’ll see that the restaurant is divided into two levels. The lower level is the more relaxed one with comfortable seating all over. The interesting part is the tent and birdcage-like seating that decorates the edges of this level. These weirdly interesting seatings are perfect for a date or a small group.

As you head upstairs, you’re welcomed by a much more colorful place. The entire floor of the upper level is made up of translucent tiles with bright neon LEDs lighting up the whole area. If you’re trying to party, it's literally a flight of stairs away in Atmosphere 6. That being said, we do recommend coming here and experiencing the sunset before all the lights come on and people come out.

The menu at Atmosphere 6 has dishes from North Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisines in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. They also have a great bar menu. We do recommend checking out the cocktails here.

Chicken Tikka

Address: Floor 6, Lunkad Skymax, Viman Nagar.

Price Approximation: INR 2,300 for two.

Ideal For: Families, couples.

Must-Try: Chicken salad, Thai vegetable curry, tandoori prawns, malai tikka.

360 Degree Revolving Restaurant

Somebody in Pune once thought of doing something very quirky with a restaurant and let their imagination touch the sky. The result was a restaurant that also touched the sky - and did a little bit more. The revolving restaurant is on the 9th floor. However, the magic of this establishment starts two floors below the restaurant.

On the seventh floor, you’ll see a 360° lounge that looks over the beautiful city of Pune. This floor is home to an amazing bar with a great selection of whiskies and cocktails to go with the view. The eighth floor houses an outdoor patio that lets you dine and wine under the stars. This floor is the one if you’re looking for a simple evening out with your close ones and the stars.

The next floor is their piece de resistance. The revolving restaurant is a fine-dining establishment that sees a considerable amount of crowd every day. So, we recommend making reservations beforehand. Well, you might be wondering if you’d get dizzy while eating on a moving floor. However, it is so slow that it takes about an hour to get to the position it started from. So, you might only realize that it's moving when you see the view around you changing.

When it comes to the food, you’ll find the same menu being shared across all floors. You get North Indian, Chinese, Mughlai, Chinese, Sichuan, and Continental options with a consistently great taste in vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian sections of the menu.

Paneer

Address: Bhosale Shinde Arcade, 7th, 8th, 9th Floor, Z Bridge, JM Road.

Price Approximation: INR 1,700 for two.

Ideal For: Families, friends, couples.

Must-Try: Chin Mai Chicken, Guava Mary, paneer cheese, tandoori mushrooms, tempura prawns.

Timings: 12 am - 12:30 am.

Open Window Café Bistro

Open Window Café Bistro is an old-school place with a warm and relaxed vibe. It’s an open-air terrace café with wall graffiti and a fabulous panoramic view of Pune’s skyline. This café, while simple, is known for its attention to detail. Along with the wall graffiti, there are many frames with posters and other art.

As you step in, you’ll see a floor with a traditional tile pattern, a blackboard by the door with the specials, and wooden chairs and tables that look like they all belong to different eras. In the corner that overlooks the city the most, you’ll find a cage-like tent that seats two. This corner makes it a perfect spot for an evening with your significant other.

When it comes to the food, this café serves delicious food from Italian and Continental to Thai cuisines along with fast food and salads. They also have an extensive bar menu with cocktails and shooters. So, you will be spoilt for choice and whichever you make, it’ll be a good one.

Chicken

Address: 1125, Hotel Ambassador, opposite Jagtap Dairy, Model Colony.

Price Approximation: INR 1,300 for two.

Ideal For: Couples, friend groups, families.

Must-Try: Cheese Balls, Spicy Chicken, Kitkat Shake.

Timings: 11 am - 12 am.

World Of Veg

This fine-dining establishment serves only vegetarian food and does a great job of it. World Of Veg has classic decor with the ideal combination of dark and light colors, and some plants that add the perfect green accents to the place. Located on the 7th floor of Ramsukh House, Shivaji Nagar provides the perfect old-city view to World Of Veg.

Considering this is a vegetarian restaurant, many might feel restricted in terms of options. However, that myth is busted as soon as you see the menu. You get North Indian, Italian, Chinese, and Continental options along with their signature thalis, live tandoor, and wood-burnt pizzas. They also have an extensive selection of mocktails that complement the food very well. However, there are no alcoholic beverages available.
