This is a beach that’s literally starstruck by Bollywood. Meaning it’s surrounded by the residences of some of your favorite celebs! Don’t be surprised to see them jogging around the beach while you’re here, it’s fairly common!

For a complete switch from city life, Suruchi Beach near Vasai is the place to be! This beach is the perfect picnic spot for friends and family to spend some quality time with their loved ones. The kids are totally going to love Suruchi Beach, thanks to the slides and swings that are there! And what’s more? At low tide, a lagoon is formed at this beach, which means that you have your own salty swimming pool!
Other than that, you can take a stroll in the mornings or evenings to watch the sun rise or set. What you’ll be assured of when in Suruchi Beach is absolute peace and quiet (if you don’t mind the cacophony of the birds, that is!). Dance your heart out along the waves, we won’t judge!
Hungry and thirsty? Suruchi Beach has also got some amazing food stalls where you can try out the flavorful ice golas in the hot scorching sun or some yummy bhelpuri.

Another beach just outside Mumbai is Gorai Beach, which is about 40 km away from the southern end of Mumbai. This is an awesome place for a weekend outing with friends or family. Lined by beautiful palm and coconut trees, all you’ll find here is complete bliss.
Apart from having a tranquil ambiance, there are also fun activities to do like boat rides, jet skiing, and many other water activities to do. A long walk by the beach is sure to rejuvenate you, or you can just frolic in the salty water.

The whole of Girgaum Chowpatty is outlined by Marine Drive. A place where you can enjoy the city lights with your people, have a short walk around the beach itself or explore the local market while having some yummy food, Girgaum offers them all.
Come morning, you’ll find people coming for walks, runs, or exercise. It’s also one of the picnic spots for people by the day where you can just sit and enjoy the pleasant beauty of nature with your family. Considering Girgaum Chowpatty is right in the heart of Mumbai, getting here is a breeze. You can board a local train; the nearest railway station is Charni Road, also Churchgate is a nearby major railway station. Apart from the local trains, you can also access a cab, which will be a bit more expensive on your pockets.
One of the best beaches around Mumbai, Madh is also one of the cleanest in the city. Located on the north-western coast of Mumbai, Madh Island comprises a cluster of villages and farmlands.
Madh Island Beach is surrounded by mangroves, giving the visitor a spectacular view. Apart from being serene, the beach is one of the places where parties are held by the upper elites of Mumbai. Daily soaps and Bollywood movies are usually shot over here; if you’re lucky enough you get to witness it.
Apart from the beach itself, there are tourist attractions like the Madh Fort which was built by the Portuguese and another attraction is the Madh Church which has got some beautiful architecture and paintings.

Getting to Madh Island is more interesting on a ferry straight from Versova; it just takes five minutes to reach Madh. You can also reach here by train; board one and get down at Malad. Also, there’s public transport available like the BEST buses and rickshaws.

This beach is a little far away from Mumbai in Kelwa (109 km). The total length of the beach is about 8 km. Lined by huge Suru (casuarina) trees lazily swaying to and fro in the wind, Kelwa or Kelwe Beach is the place for a weekend escape.
Kelwa Beach is also well known for the Kelva Fort and Sitladevi Temple. The beach is one of the hidden treasures unknown to many people, but surprisingly as time is changing more and more people are getting to know more about the beach. It’s one of the most silent and cleanest beaches to be at. Walk on the beach barefoot, being in your moment, enjoying every bit of enthralling nature.
Come here all by yourself or with a group of friends to enjoy the morning view or the view after the sunsets. The easiest way to get there is by road and by train. If you’re traveling by local train, board one bound for Dahanu Road and get off at Kelve Road. You can then take a rickshaw to Kelwa Beach.
A beach situated 17 km away from the tiny little town of Dahanu is Bordi Beach. What’s special about Bordi is the sand here, which is black in color and quite sticky.
The specialty of the seashore is that it is lined with chikoo trees, making the beach more appealing and attractive.
The waters around Bordi are relatively calm and don’t rise substantially, so you swim with relative ease and safety here (but do be careful and don’t take any unnecessary risks!)
